Online since 1996, Intertops Poker was the first online poker site to accept real money bets. It speaks volumes that, more than two decades later, they're still going strong.
Part of the Cake Poker Network, Intertops has no shortage of players thanks to a strong offering of poker variants, a longstanding reputation as a safe place to play and some great bonuses that we'll talk a little more about below.
They offer a 200% up to $1000 deposit bonus, paid out in $5 increments as you play, which is definitely pretty respectable and is higher than the welcome bonus offered at many other poker sites. There are also various promotions like reload bonuses, three daily freerolls and Frequent Player Point races
Game Selection
Not the widest variation of games, but given that some online poker sites only offer Omaha and Hold'Em, there may be a couple of variations that you'll be glad to see on that list.
There are plenty of tournaments on offer, almost 100 on an average weekday in fact, with buy-ins ranging from $0.10 all the way through to $100+. In terms of very large tournaments with huge prize funds, you won't find all that much because most of the players on Intertops are beginners.
Take poker tables with you anywhere you go with the Intertops mobile casino version. As of yet, this bookmaker doesn’t have its own app. This means, you’ll be using the browser version of Intertops but on your mobile device. This can be easier than having a separate mobile app, because in this case you won’t need to download anything. All you have to do is visit the Intertops online casino site from your mobile phone browser, or on your tablet, and you’re good to go. To get to the page faster the next time you go into your mobile device, pin it to your home screen. This will save you some precious time that you could utilize better by placing bets on your favorite games.
Once you’re there, enter your details or sign up. When you’re through, you’ll be directed to the lobby. Choose the game you want to play, or search a little longer through their decent variety of titles. You’ll have the chance to play tournaments, SNGs and cash games on the Intertops mobile poker variation.
There are some great ways to make your online casino experience personal on the mobile version too. You can change the colors, have sound on or off, choose auto muck or auto blinds. All these elements really add to the gaming experience while you’re on the go.
Better still, these prizes include travel expenses, accommodation and meals/beverages, so even if you don't win the tournament at least you'll get a vacation out of it. These packages alone make Intertops worth a look.
Because they offer a decent bonus structure and extremely regular smaller tournaments there's always a heap of players against which you can pit your skills, whichever variant you're looking to play and whatever time you arrive.
However, Intertops also offers a casino and sportsbook as well as poker, and many players switch between the three. This means that a lot of Intertops poker players are quite inexperienced. That's no bad thing, as it means they may be prone to bad bets, but it also means they might play a bit slowly or bluff you accidentally.
At the time of writing, Intertops doesn't have a dedicated mobile app. Given the explosive rise of mobile gambling this might seem like they're leaving money on the table, but you have to think that they've been around long enough to know what they're doing.
Summary
Intertops's graphics are hardly going to blow you away–and the relative lack of oversized tournament jackpots might put some players off–but with a good reputation spanning more than two decades, a solid range of games and the chance to win some great all expenses paid tournament entries, it's still got a lot going for it.
