The latest World Series of Poker (WSOP) online event has been dominated by locals as Dan Lupo took home $145,273.

With the summer series now in full swing, the fourth online bracelet has been decided. Following the recent Omaha, Hold’em and knockout showdowns, the $500 Turbo Deepstack got underway on June 19.

As has been the case with this year’s other events, the masses were out in force. With players in Nevada and New Jersey able to log in and play, a total of 1,181 entries were collected before the registration period ended.

Americans Dominate WSOP Online

Like the WSOP’s offline events, American players were in abundance. However, as we’ve seen in other online MTTs this year, international players have found their way into the money positions.

Although the WSOP.com’s knockout bracelet went to US pro Upeshka De Silva, he had to overcome a Turk and a Spaniard on the final table. In Event #46, the only non-local in the mix was Russia’s HITRII999.

With 14 players left, the Russian was riding high in the chip counts. However, a series of mistimed moves saw the online grinder slip from second to 11th in less than 30 minutes.

By the time the finale rolled around, Lupo was out in front and HITRII999 was forced to make a move with T♥9♥. Already behind to pocket jacks of Lupo, a third jack on the flop sent the Russian to the rail in ninth.

Lupo Leads from Pillar to Post

After opening the elimination floodgates, Lupo was able to take out two more players on route to a showdown with David Clarke. Both established players, the heads-up battle went back-and-forth before Lupo made a decisive move.

Following an all-in from Clarke, the New Jersey native made a call with A♣3♣. Just ahead of Clarke’s Q♥T♠, a three on the flop increased Lupo’s advantage.

With two cards to come, only a ten or a queen could change things. When neither emerged, Clarke’s avatar faded to grey as the final pot slid towards Lupo.
