Partypoker is keeping up the pressure on one of its closest rivals with a series of big value online and offline tournaments.

With PokerStars posting record numbers for its recent WCOOP, Partypoker has upped the ante for its Monster Series.

Announcing the revamped schedule on September 26, the online poker operator is guaranteeing $2 million across 201 MTTs.

Partypoker Chipping Away at Peers

Although the event isn’t intended to compete directly with WCOOP, it’s another chance to chip away at its rival’s dominance.

As the per schedule, buy-ins will range from $0.11 and $22, with each MTT being labeled as “low,” “medium” or “high.”

The first batch of tournaments will get underway on September 29 before a quartet of main events close out the show between October 6 and 7.

In tandem with another major online series, Partypoker is lending its support to the latest World Poker Tour (WPT) event.

Set to get underway on September 27 with a $500,000 guaranteed “opener,” WPT UK will feature seven events in total.

Although the $3,300 main event is already underway online, players won’t convene inside Nottingham’s Dusk Till Dawn until October 2.

Before they do that, three side events, including the Devilfish Cup, will keep attendees occupied.

Paying Homage to an Industry Icon

In its role as co-promoter, Partypoker is helping to guarantee a $1 million prizepool for the charity event.

Held in memory of the late Dave Ulliott, the Devilfish Cup will cost $5,300 to enter and take place between September 29 and October 2.

Team Partypoker pros Sam Trickett and Roberto Romanello are expected to play, as is Partypoker Live chairman John Duthie.

As well as seven-figure guarantee, all rake from the tournament will be shared equally between a trust fund for Ulliott’s daughter and Macmillan Cancer Support.

As tournament fever continues to sweep across the community, Partypoker will be hoping for significant interest in both festivals.

Indeed, with PokerStars slipping to second in the online poker rankings, the industry is in the midst of a power shift. If its latest offerings can generate a positive reaction, Partypoker could edge usurp the GGNetwork, edge into the top three and move a step closer to PokerStars.
