After sitting on the sidelines as an unsponsored player for two years, the American pro known as Ike to his online followers has forged a working relationship with partypoker.

Announced on January 22, the deal will see Haxton join fellow pros Fedor Holz, Sam Trickett, Patrick Leonard and Jason Koon as a brand ambassador.

An Ambassador for Party and Its Players

Under the terms of the deal, Haxton will not only represent the site in online and offline events but provide a link between partypoker’s HQ and the wider community.

“Isaac’s profile and experience makes him a perfect ambassador for the company. Over the years he has also demonstrated a real commitment to principles and will play a key role in helping us meet and exceed player expectations,” said partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters.

Haxton has long been regarded as one of the leading tournament and cash game players in the world. Thanks more than $15 million in live earnings and success at the highest stakes games online, Haxton became a longstanding member of PokerStars’ Team Online.

PokerStars Spat Made Haxton a Free Agent

That deal came to an end in January 2016 when Haxton felt PokerStars no longer embodied the same values it had when he became a sponsored pro in 2012.

“I have vehemently opposed certain changes that were made or lobbied strongly in favor of changes which were not implemented. I believe PokerStars is behaving unethically,” Haxton wrote on 2+2 in light of changes to PokerStars’ VIP reward system.

With an opportunity to start afresh at another major brand in the online poker world, Haxton was drawn to partypoker thanks to its recent overhaul. As well as noting improvements to his new sponsor’s online offerings, Ike said was particularly pleased with the revamped live tournament schedule.

“I’m truly proud to represent the company, which I believe is going to be the future of poker, online and live,” Haxton told partypoker’s blog.
