Doyle Brunson Takes Charge of Dolly’s Game on PokerGo

Poker legend Doyle Brunson will return to our screens as the host with a target on his back in a new show called Dolly’s Game.

Created by Poker Central and shot the PokerGo Studio inside the ARIA Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Dolly’s Game will see a cast of challengers make a play for Brunson’s crown. The first episode of the televised showdowns will air on PokerGo streaming service on January 7.

Brunson Ready to Mix It Up

Commenting on the latest production, Poker Central president Sam Simmons said that Brunson’s presence will be a chance for the channel to show something other than Hold’em.

“It truly is an honor to welcome Doyle as such a large part of the PokerGo platform. We’re looking forward to hosting some of the highest stakes mixed games on earth for the fans to enjoy,” Simmons said on January 3.

For Brunson, the TV outing will be his first major commitment since retiring from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2018.

One of the event’s founding fathers, Texas Dolly has been battling for bracelets since 1970. However, with modern WSOP’s boasting 50+ tournaments and thousands of players, the effort required to win a title has become too much for Brunson.

Although he may return, the 85-year-old received a round of applause as he left the festival for (potentially) the final time after finishing sixth in the No Limit 2-7 Lowball Championship.

Dolly’s Game to Show Age is No Barrier

The WSOP’s loss is TV viewers’ gain as the American pro is still active in cash games. Between Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio and select venues across Las Vegas, Brunson is still playing for high stakes and Dolly’s Game will provide a glimpse into his world.

For poker fans, the $3,000/$6,000 mixed game will be another positive addition to the growing PokerGo schedule. Since announcing the launch of its online streaming service in 2017, Poker Central has been actively producing its own content in a bid to recapture the excitement of the early poker boom.

Subscribers paying $10-a-month or $99 annually will get to watch Dolly’s Game on demand alongside a host of additional content, including Insiders, Poker After Dark and the WSOP.

With Brunson now in the twilight of his career, the show will be a chance for everyone to see a legend compete before he folds his final hand. Beyond that, Dolly’s Game will serve as a timely reminder that age is no barrier when it comes to success in poker.
